Ellie Goulding, Juice WRLD – Hate Me

A very interesting crossover that happened last week. Ellie Goulding and Juice WRLD collaborated on a track named Hate Me. This was a very odd song for me to take in sine I never thought these two artists, who are clearly in different genres, would come together and create a song. Juices verse is quite short, but the overall vibe of the song is typical pop for me. It is very hard for me to disconnect Ellie Goulding from that genre. But what I will say is that the addition of Juice is a good break from the mainstream artists and it shows that the new age can still connect with the mainstream artists that everyone Is used to. The actual content of the song was very limited, for a song that has Juice on it I was expecting Ellie to pour her heart out on the track but instead I got a performance that was very stagnant and did not go anywhere. It was very repetitive and I just wanted a bit more content.

The song isn’t bad at all. The sound of the song is near perfect, Juice and Ellie sound really good together and I know that this is a song that will do well on the radio. But I can’t get away from the poor lyrical content of the song. Regardless it is a boost for both artists because each are big in their own respects. It is a good tune to vibe to but I thought that there would be more to it.
